Why I almost Quit Blogging

Why I was going to quit blogging…

I started my blog initially because I love the blogging, vlogging, and social media community and I also have enjoyed having a voice and a space on the internet to process my thoughts, discuss topics important to me and others around me, to recommend products that I love using or have found all of a sudden.

The internet is a huge space and I really do feel there is enough of it for us all but it is also a tough place. Running a blog isn’t easy, talk to anyone who has one. I started this blog when I was at uni and a couple of my friends decided to start blogs too and they quickly found it too much to run and maintain alongside everything else. When this isn’t your full time job and you aren’t earning money from it, it can sometimes fall down the priority list of life. This has happened to me many times over the couple of years of me having this blog.

It’s something that I really love and enjoy but recently I really had to think about whether or not I wanted to continue doing it or not. My domain name (lifebylyd) was expiring and I had to pay to keep it.  This is a normal thing that happens every two years, yep we do have to pay to run this hobby! I waited an unusual amount of time for me (I’m normally super organised) to renew my domain name. I was thinking about whether or not to continue and why I love blogging. I love writing about things that are important to me whether be skin care or the NHS! I have such an eclectic taste in life and I want to share that with you all.

Some people don’t get it and that’s fine with me (said in the nicest way possible) I know some of my friends and work colleagues find it weird this little thing that I do here and that maybe discouraged me and made me shrink down a bit to accommodate them but I love it and this is something I do for me.

I just wanted to leave this post here for all the people who want to do something or start something for them but are too worried about what other people think of them of what other people will say about it. DO IT! DO YOU! Doing something for yourself is so important and doing something for your mind is even more so!

Be happy people! Until next time…

So often we allow social media or other people’s opinions to dictate what we should be doing or saying. I loved this post! And exactly like you said….DO YOU!

I am so proud of you for always being honest about how you feel! I’m sure there will be people who begin to open up because of your honesty xxx

I think you are amazing, don’t let anyone crush your spirit. You are unique, you’re special and you’re you. Go girl – DO YOU!
