Super Simple SkinCare

This post has really been inspired by my sister and my cousin, so I can’t take any credit for this one. We were on Zoom the other day and we were discussing skincare. Lockdown skin, dry skin, oily skin etc…. now just to confess at the start of this, I am no skin care expert AT ALL!!! There are some fantastic people that you can follow on here who know waaaaaaay more than me. I can recommend Caroline Hirons as the GOAT on skin care, she knows it all, so head over there for all your skin care related needs. This is just my super simple routine on days where i’m super lazy but still want to get some goodness into my skin. This is my very strippped back routine for those when meh….. I would consider all these MUST HAVES in anyone’s routine.

I would say that I have very combination skin, oily or dry are my skins two areas of expertise. I would like to say that I have a 6 step skincare routine and I always remember to complete every step and never have breakouts but thats simply just not true, and i’m not going to lie. I’m a very busy person who mostly just wants a quick simple routine day to day and I can be more bougee on the days where I have time. I do love a face mask and a skin care treatment and I do like to try new things, I’m always buying skin care (sorry Matt).

Here are my Skin Care MUST HAVES:

STEP ONE
Garnier Micellar water is a must for me! I never use facewipes (even while camping) I’ve always taken micellar water. Face wipes just move the dirt round on your face and don’t get rid of it. Also micellar water is really quick and easy if like me you are coming in from a night shift or a long day. Just a simple step for cleansing, also has the added bonus that you can cleanse from bed, no need for a tap (night shift ladies will feel me here)

STEP TWO

Toner- now this might be a step or a product that you haven’t used before. Toner ensures that there is no remaining oil, dirt or impurities in your skin even after you have cleansed it. Toner shrinks the appearance of pores and restores your skin’s PH balancing it after cleansing. Some cleansers can be really stripping on the skin. Toner also helps brighten your skin and gives it that glowy look. My favourite toner is the Pixi glow tonic, pop this on a facepad and off you go (another step from bed, are you noticing a theme here?)

STEP THREE

Moisturise! This is my favourite daily AM moisturiser. The reason I have different ones for morning and night is MAINLY because this one contains a good amount of SPF, I use SPF everyday for the protection against all the nasties UVA and UVB. I love this Body Shop mosturiser because it has a high factor of SPF, if you are going to use this you must remember to cleanse and take it off. SPF sticks to your skin and you really need to remove it (ideally with a two step cleansing routine) which I do on days where I’m not working with a tap and water, HAHA!

Hope you enjoyed this super simple 3 step skincare morning routine, all the links for these products are on the blog so you can click through if you want to start this routine.

If you would like to see more of my skin care favourites then please let me know. I can go into my more detailed routine or maybe favourite face masks? I love buying skincare so if you think there is anything I need to try PLEASE let me know.

Stay Safe!

I love this! Skin care is so confusing, there are SO many products out there. As a midwife I am in serious need of an easy skin care routine! Going to order these now!
